KiSS 103.1 is PUMPED to partner with GoodLife Fitness for the 2017 GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon on October 8th! This is Vancouver Island’s premier running event, offering athletes an unmatchable running experience on the pristine West Coast. Our world-class, record-breaking course is designed by runners, for runners. It’s the only Certified Boston Qualifier on the Island, and you get to check out some of the most scenic spots in Victoria! You can choose from the full or the half marathon, an 8K road race, the marathon relay, or there’s a Thrifty Food’s kid’s run!

Package Pick-Up

Race Packages may be picked up from the Victoria Marathon Race Expo at the Victoria Conference Centre, 720 Douglas Street, Victoria, BC on:

  • Friday, October 6, 3:00 pm – 7:30 pm
  • Saturday, October 7, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Sunday, October 8. There is NO Day-Of-Race registration.

Race Expo

On October 6-8, 2017, the Race Expo takes place at the Victoria Conference Centre, 720 Douglas Street. Exhibitors will be open at the same time as Race Package Pickup and on Sunday during the awards. The Speaker Series will be held in the Expo Theatre on Saturday afternoon.

Live Tracker

The 2017 GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon, Half Marathon and 8K Road Race will feature the latest in real-time race tracking by providing Live Results via our timing partner, Race Day Timing Services.

Features Include:

  • Live Web Tracker – See times and current pace within seconds of a participant crossing each split point. Estimated times will be provided based on current pace.
  • Live Leaderboard – See who is winning via the Live Leaderboard. Top runners in each category will be displayed in real-time as they lead the way through the course.

Real-time Facebook / Twitter Notifications – Get automatic posting as progress is made on the course. As a spectator, the times of the participant you are tracking can be posted to your Facebook or Twitter feed automatically allowing friends and family to share in the excitement! If you are a participant, claim your profile and enable Facebook or Twitter notifications. Your stats will post live as you pass each checkpoint.

Road Closures & Traffic Changes

The route will start in downtown Victoria on Menzies and wind through the downtown core into James Bay and Beacon Hill Park, along Dallas Rd to Gonzales Bay. It will proceed into Fairfield, Oak Bay and Uplands before the turnaround. The route then returns the same way. There will be a loop at the Lawndale/Cowichan area that will be the turnaround point for the Half Marathon.


Some small residential roadways on the route will be closed for various periods of time. Oak Bay residents living in the area south of McNeill Avenue, east of Foul Bay Avenue and west of Oliver Street and need to cross the marathon route in their vehicle, may do so on Foul Bay Road at McNeill Avenue. James Bay residents can take Simcoe to Douglas and head north out of downtown.


The early start Marathon is at 6:30 am led by lead cyclists. Following the start of the two main races – the Marathon and Half Marathon at 8:00 am – Menzies, Michigan, Government and Wharf will be closed between 7:50 am and 8:30 am.  Johnson will be closed from Wharf to Cook between 8:05 – 8:35 am and 8:50 – 9:20 am. All traffic will have full access north of Humboldt, west of Cook following the last runner at approximately 9:30 am to access Douglas Street and Blanshard and escape north out of Victoria to the Pat Bay Highway.


No traffic will be permitted on Dallas Rd. between 7:15 am and 2:15 pm.  The portion of Dallas Rd. between Cook and Douglas will be closed starting at 4:00 a.m. and will remain closed until the end of the event.


Police will be allowing some traffic to travel across the race route when it is safe; however it is advised that vehicles be parked on a street not included on the Marathon route. Your vehicle will be towed from the roadway if it is affecting the running route. The police will begin opening the roads as the participants finish the different sections of the course. At 2:30 pm all streets will be re-opened to traffic except for Belleville Street between Douglas and Menzies, and Government Street between Superior and Humboldt. These streets will re-open once finish line equipment has been taken down.


The Thrifty Foods Kids Run will use Menzies (from Kingston to Superior) and Superior (from Menzies to Montreal); these roads will be closed to traffic and parking from 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Montreal Street (from Superior to Kingston) and Kingston (from Montreal to Menzies) will be closed from 10:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
